PATH OF THE DESCENDING STARS
ORION THE HUNTER
Constellation of Semyaza
In Medieval Arabic astronomy, Orion was known as aljabbar (The Giant) and the sixth brightest star, Saiph was named saif al-jabbar (Sword of the Giant). Ancient Egypt held Orion as the constellation in which the deified Pharaoh would ascend to and become after death: Sah the “Father of the Gods”. Orion is identified with Semyaza in which the Watcher was suspended in the heavens according to some Jewish lore.
DRACO & THUBAN The Dragon ﻥﺎﺒﻌﺛ thuʿbān
Thuban and Al Tinnin is from the Arabic title for a star in the constellation of Draco (Azhdeha). Draco, in Greek mythology was the serpent which guarded the Golden Apples in the garden of the Hesperides. Thuban itself translates ‘snake’. In the Zoroastrian Bundahishn, Gochihr, a dragon of Ahriman, identified as the Draco constellation is like a snake (dragons and serpents have interchangeable root word associations) with the head in Gemini (Pahlavi ‘do-pahikar’) and tail in Centaurus (nemasp). The head of Gochihr, (Gochihr Sar) was identified as the demon (daeva) of eclipses under the rule of Ahriman.
In the Bundahishn, two Daevas (demons) are enemies of the stellar constellations and threaten the order of the cosmos. Gochihr and Pairika Mush Parig both are serpent-like with tail and wings. The Bundahishn reveals several astrological symbols and the lore of the Dragon.
“As Gochihr falls in the celestial sphere from a moon-beam on to the earth, the distress of the earth becomes such-like as that of a sheep when a wolf falls upon it.” -Bundahishn Chapter 30
The eclipsing power of the Gochihr is partially thwarted by establishing parameters in which the demons are restrained to. The Bundahishn describes “Gochihr and Mushpar, provided with tails, unto the sun and moon and stars. The sun has attached Mushpar to its own radiance by mutual agreement, so that he may be less able to do harm”.
In Manichaean lore also recognized the eclipsing Dragon as Anabibazon and Katabibazon (Head and Tail of the Dragon). Gochihr or Draco is known in the Brahmanic tradition as Rahu, demon of eclipses. Using the Algol Ritual, call forth your shadow and take the eclipsing power of Azhdeha as the form of the sorcerer.
ALGOL
The Adversarial Star
ﻝﻮﻐﻟﺍ ﺱﺃﺭ raʾs al-ghūl
Algol was identified in Hebrew as R ōsh ha Sāṭān (Satan’s Head), known also in Latin as Caput Larvae (The Spectre’s Head) and in Chinese as Tseih She (Piled up Corpses). In modern Luciferian Magick, Algol is a name for the 8-pointed star of Chaos with the Inverted Pentagram within, representing the 7 Sebitti, 7 ArchDaevas and the 8th being the Black Adept controlling and guiding these powers. Algol is composed of 2 stars which is represented in Luciferianism as Samael (Satan the Adversary) and Lilith.
THE ALGOL RITUAL OF AZHDEHA
A version the Luciferian Star of Algol [Face West, invoke with the mantic formula, turning to South, East and North. The Athame should be pointed with self-determined visualization of blazing light, as if each point of the Chaos-Star is a represented Fallen Angel which has not taken anthropomorphic shape. Once you have completed the 8 outer points, turn the Athame to the 5 points of the inverted pentagram in the same manner: North-West, South-West, South, South-East, North-East.]
Raising the 7 Heads of Azhdeha and the 8th being Aeshma
Al-Ghul-Rosh-ha-Satan, ALGOL!
[each point of the chaos-star] May the 7 Heads of Azhdeha, of Taprev, Zairich, Naonghaitha, Indra, Savar, Akoman and Ahriman stir from the infernal depths of Dozak, rise in me and open your eyes from my
purified vessel as AZOTHOZ! With the Mask of Aeshma as the 8th I shall guide your powers within this world! Behold! The blazing torches of stellar and fallen light which flash as fires become as my eyes which hold vision beyond the veil of this
fleshly life, so may the shades of the dead and flying shadows be known to me!
The Fallen Star of the Inverted Pentagram
SAMAEL-LILITH-MAHAZAEL-AZAZEL-BELIAL
[Five points of the inverted pentagram have each a Deific Mask representing a specific type of power and energy] By the Lightning Bolt from which Great Power and Knowledge was passed down, may the Stars open the Gates to the Deified Dead and the Corpse-Ruler of Sheol; may the Stars ignite the Black Flame and the Apotheosis of the Devil Made Flesh and as
Helios-Oriens be made manifest within my sacred temple of Mind-Body-Spirit!
[Visualize the Inverse Pentagram centering within your physical and spiritual center, the 8-points of chaos encircling and creating a shadowy barrier between the Casual Realm (of time) and the Acasual (timeless chaos).]
Hail to you Gochihr-Azhdeha, great Dragon who eclipses the light, encircle me in shadow and timeless being.
So it is done! [Raise Athame from the earth to the heavens] [End of Ritual]
LUCIFERUS The Morning Star
Luciferus, known a
lso as Phosphorus and Eosphoros are names of Venus as the Morning Star. The Path of the Luciferus is one of guiding, illuminating wisdom and insight. The Watchers Kokabiel, Azazel (as associated with beautification and seduction). The Palmyran God of the Morning Star, Azizos has associations with Azazel as previously mentioned but also with the warlike association with Mars. Azizos is identified as Ares which is also the power of the forge. Arsu is the twin of Azizos who is identified as the Evening Star. The workings of the Morning Star are to be performed right before dawn, when the star is easily noticed in the Eastern sky. The invocations and offerings are focused on the spiritual and celestial aspects of bearing light, Apotheosis in the higher faculties of the mind which is associated with the Daemon.
VESPERUS The Evening Star
Vesperus is the star which brings night, Venus in the shadow-aspect. Traditionally, Ishtar (Inanna) in her identification with the Evening Star denoted her warlike and bloodthirsty attributes, while as the Morning Star indicated her protective, loving and creative traits. The Path of Vesperus is the exploration of the Nightside of your Magickial aims; strategic conflict, war and conquering your enemy finds a parallel with Mars in this aspect. Vesperus is Noctifer, the Night-Bringer and the demonic path of Therionick invocations and dream-projection.
Chapter 6: Lunar Sorcery
The Path of Sariel
Moon Magick and Self-Divination
Sariel is the patron spirit and guide of the Arcane Lunar Path. A simple focus on the monthly cycle of the Moon, the choice of ritual and initiatory working depending on the Lunar phase will illuminate the Witch and Warlock to move well past vague ‘moon-lore’ and use the knowledge of monthly patterns and to compel change. Sariel still offers the forbidden knowledge of how to recognize the phases and times of the Moon and how to attain power from experience. The Moon is the planet of cold and equally passionate emotions including our deep desires which bring a pale light to the abyssic darkness of our primal instincts.
Observe your emotions, desires and what inspires your dreams. Recognize the patterns of your emotional waves and how you may use the phase of the Moon to a specific purpose. Seek cold and rational insight towards what traits you wish to cast aside and the transformations that will take place. Don’t be afraid to Know Yourself and fully embrace the darkness which whispers to each of us. When you learn of your strengths and weaknesses you may attain a more consistent balance of your moods and energies you cultivate. By this same token, you can transform and re-shape the way of thinking to evolve as a living Adept. This path brings power, wisdom and the predatory patience of the hunter.
New Moon
The New Moon or Dark Moon is the cycle in which the Moon is directly between the Earth and the Sun, therefor hidden. This is a time of new beginnings and new undertakings. The beginnings of self-initiation into the Luciferian Mysteries of the Daemon and the Watchers are to be affirmed now. The New Moon is symbolic of initiation and change. Often neophytes begin the journey of self-initiation with an ideal image in mind of what they wish to experience and gain knowledge from.
The Adversarial Path will be the greatest weapon and tool for forging and commanding a journey which will strengthen your spirituality from tangible results. This is the time for creating and beginning new endeavors, relationships and challenges. To allow inspiration to plant the seeds of desire to formulate an idea into a tangible accomplishment. Narrow your ideas and focus on your possibilities within your magickial path from both a spiritual to a physical sense.
To affirm your self-determined choice to overcome personal struggles or habits which do not benefit you, Sariel descends to guide the Luciferian to the subtle mastery, knowledge and cycles of initiation and the building of power. The Watcher sends visions of the Maiden, the virgin goddess prepares for the hunt. The youthful and seductive aspect of Artemis / Diana as the Queen of the Groves, in solitude she embraces the darkness and shadows which nourish and inspire her.
Waxing Moon
The Moon is beginning to accumulate strength, growing and slowly emerges from darkened shadows from a New to a Full Moon. This is an ideal time for pushing and testing your strengths and weakness, not to mention your personal boundaries of experience. This is also opportune to focus on growth within a relationship, financial increase, also of course gaining knowledge to then apply it and overcome challenges with cold calculated strategy. Healing spells and fertility workings are ideal for the Waxing Moon. Sariel inspires with the vision of Artemis the Hunting Goddess, she embodies the ruthless predatory nature inherent and wild within each of us; the beasts of prey kill and survive. Spells for lust, love and deep desires are favored now. Lilith and night spirits are more controlled in dreaming copulation, rather than vampiric visitations. Cynthia, the Queen of the Mysteries of the Night, a hidden name for our Witch Mother holds the Three-Fold Path of the Crossroads. The Horned goddess comes down from wooded groves and rides deep into the darkness of night. Sariel teaches by instinct and dream that learning to control and guide your desires rather than be ruled by them is to increase your Apotheosis.
Balance with caution your desires and passion with a controlled and disciplined guide of strategic thinking and acting. Instinct, intuition and now you are in the balance between the dark chthonic realms of the serpent, the black earth and the sharp light of imagination.
Waxing Gibbous
The Watcher Sariel represents here the introversion of the Luciferian, gestating during this period and slowly increasing with the energies of the Full Moon. Meditative workings including Ahrimanian Yoga, minor spells towards a short-term goal are best explored now.
Full Moon
The Full Moon is the zenith of nocturnal beauty, a lamp of the silvery sphere of Luna. Sariel guides and inspires with invocations and magickial workings to transform and evolve, encircling and building psychic abilities, fertility spells and the Lunar Goddesses resplendent in the nocturnal sky in their vast majesty. The Luciferian Witch should focus and command the energies inspiring strength, wisdom, love and power with a focus on the Mother aspect of the Triad of Hecate. Astral Projection and Dream Magick are deeply connected with the Witches Sabbat, a time of antinomian revelry within the mysteries of the Horned One. Lycanthropy and transformation of mental states into that of a patron-animal, reptile or bird is beneficial as the energies of Luna inspire indulging in our desires and passions. Workings of immense importance should be conducted during this time.
Hymns, invocations with offerings of incense and libations to Hecate, Lilith the Maiden and the Watcher Sariel are suggested.
Waning Gibbous
The moon is now decreasing and the illumination is nightly growing smaller. The cycle of growth is now finished and the chthonic abode of the Crone aspect of the Triad of Hecate. Invocations and spells focused on burning away the unneeded habits, weaknesses and to enter a period of introspection and self-divination. Invocations and offerings to Hecate, the Celtic Morrigan or one of the other Crone Goddesses including Lilith the Older. This is the period to remove parasitic or one-sided “friendships”, difficult situations and to seek the wisdom of your demonic aspect of self. Black Mirror Scrying divination to invoke the night spirits of Lilith are encouraged during this time to strengthen your psychic and instinctual (dreaming) mind with vampiric spirits. This can guide the Black Adept towards initiation into the Vampyric and Necromantic Paths within the Luciferian Tradition.
Waning Moon
The Moon decreases from Full to Dark, the very passions of the Netherworld or Chthonic realms of the hidden place of wealth, renewal and knowledge. Focus on workings to inspire the discipline of cultivating the inspirations of the demonic to fuel your fantasies into goals in daily life.
Dark Moon
In full demonic luster, we find the necromantic inspirations of the Dark Moon. Sariel guides us with teachings to actualize our knowledge and power in this life of living flesh; in balance with this is the path to the Netherworld, Hell or Underworld and demonic cups of infer
nal ecstasies of the spirit. The Black Mirror of Lilith is a prime gateway into the darksome caverns of the vampyric muses. Use your passion and instinct to think as if you and the Deific Masks of the demonic powers are but identical. If you can with a whole heart believe this, you will be initiated into the Nightside Current of the Luciferian Path. The Adversary tests, seduces, challenges, motivates and if weakness prevails – destroys- that which ignites the Black Flame. Destructive workings against enemies are ideal during this time.
THE TRIPLE GODDESS OF THE SABBAT
As seen with the Triangle of Evocation in Luciferian Witchcraft, the Trimorphic Goddess is a sign of the magical circle of evocation surrounded by three points of the Witch Mother and her forms or Deific Masks. In our Black Art, the Triangle of Evocation may hold the Name of Power, Azazel, to empower with strength the meeting-place of spirits and to encircle and constrain powers which the Witch or Warlock will in turn guide and direct towards invocation or visualized goals.
HECATE TRIMORPHIS
Antiquity provides the inspired Witch or Warlock with a vast body of knowledge concerning one of the most ancient, revered and feared deity known as Hecate. From ancient Greek and Greco-Roman myth, religion and magick traditions and her many epithets and masks, the Triple Goddess is incarnated in various forms and names in Celtic, Norse, Germanic, Thracian, Scythian and the Hellenistic world through the Christian period.
The lore and wisdom of the circle reveals that the feminine and masculine powers which embody the Lord and Lady of the Sabbat are of equal quality. To be awakened as Baphomet – Cain, the Luciferian must attain a beginning of balance between Samael and Lilith. Be it known, these are Names of Power and there are numerous types of Deific Power within the elements and this world of flesh and spirit. Lilith is one mask of the goddess, representing a type of manifestation of that power. The goddess Hecate is another equally terrible and beautiful Deific Mask which is a foundation for the Luciferian Path. Hecate tests, challenges and reveals the complete circle of Above and Below.
